Domaine Vincent Stoeffler

🍇 Domaine Vincent Stoeffler — Alsace in a glass

Tucked away in the pretty village of Barr, at the foot of the Vosges mountains, Domaine Vincent Stoeffler has been quietly making some of Alsace's most honest wines for generations. You won't find flashy marketing here — just a family who knows every row of vines by heart and lets the fruit do the talking. If you've never tried an Alsatian white before, this is a lovely place to start.

🌱 A terroir you can actually taste

The domaine farms around 15 hectares spread across Barr and Ribeauvillé, two spots that couldn't be more different underfoot. You've got limestone and marl on one side, granite and sandstone on the other — and that variety is exactly why the wines taste so distinct from one another. Everything is worked organically and biodynamically, which means healthier soils, deeper roots and grapes that genuinely reflect where they grew. No shortcuts, no heavy hand in the cellar.

🍷 The grapes behind the bottles

Riesling is the star here — dry, taut, with that lovely citrus-and-stone character that makes it so easy to drink with food. Then there's Gewurztraminer, all rose petals and lychee, perfect if you fancy something more exuberant. Pinot Gris brings a rounder, smoky richness, while Muscat offers a crisp, grapey freshness that's brilliant as an aperitif. Pinot Noir and Sylvaner complete the family, and the Crémant d'Alsace is a genuine bargain next to Champagne.

✨ Why you'll keep coming back

These are wines with real personality and a price tag that won't make you wince. Whether you're pairing a Riesling with seafood, matching Gewurztraminer to a spicy curry, or simply opening a bottle of Crémant because it's Friday, Domaine Vincent Stoeffler delivers every time. Grab a few bottles and see which cuvée becomes your favourite — we reckon you'll struggle to choose.
