Champagne Thomas Perseval

🍾 Champagne Thomas Perseval — a young grower with plenty to say

If you enjoy champagnes that taste of somewhere rather than something, you'll get on well with Thomas Perseval. Based in Chamery, a village tucked into the Montagne de Reims, he took over the family vines and quickly made them his own — smaller yields, gentler winemaking and a real refusal to rush things. The result? Bottles that feel alive, honest and genuinely fun to drink.

📍 Chamery and the Montagne de Reims

Chamery is a Premier Cru village sitting on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims, where chalk lies close to the surface and the vines catch a cool, gentle light. That chalk is the secret weapon here: it keeps the wines fresh, gives them that lovely saline snap on the finish and stops the fruit from ever feeling heavy. It's a terroir that rewards patience, and Thomas gives it exactly that.

🍇 The grapes in the glass

Pinot Meunier takes the lead in many of the cuvées, bringing juicy red-fruit charm and a rounded, welcoming texture — this is a grape Thomas treats with real respect rather than as a supporting act. Pinot Noir adds backbone, depth and a touch of spice, while Chardonnay lifts everything with citrus, white flowers and that mineral thread running right through. Blended or bottled solo, each one gets room to show its character.

🌿 Working with nature, not against it

The vineyard is farmed with care: no shortcuts, ploughed soils, and picking by hand when the fruit is exactly right. In the cellar you'll find old oak barrels, native yeasts, low dosage and long ageing on lees. Nothing flashy, nothing hidden — just clear, textured champagne that tastes like the place it came from.

🥂 How to enjoy it

Pour it a little less cold than you think, ideally in a wide glass so the aromas can stretch out. These bottles love the table: fresh oysters, roast chicken, a slice of Comté, or simply good company on a Friday evening. Whether you're opening one now or tucking it away for a couple of years, Thomas Perseval gives you champagne with personality — and that's exactly why it's worth trying.

Champagne Art Terre

Meet a grower Champagne from Chamery, in the Montagne de Reims, where Thomas Perseval works his family vines with real care — organic practices, low yields and a light touch in the cellar. Meunier takes the lead here, grown on chalky, clay-rich slopes that give the wine its gentle roundness and quiet depth. Fermentation happens with indigenous yeasts, part in oak, and dosage stays low so the fruit and the soil do the talking. Expect ripe orchard fruit, warm brioche, a chalky finish and fine, creamy bubbles. Lovely with roast chicken, soft cheeses, or simply poured on its own.

Champagne Le Hazat

Grown in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, this cuvée comes from a small family estate in Chamery where Thomas Perseval works his vines with real care, favouring gentle, low-intervention methods. The fruit is picked by hand from a single plot, then pressed and fermented slowly to keep every nuance of the chalky, clay-rich soil. Ageing on lees gives you a fine, persistent mousse and a lovely creamy texture, while the palate stays bright and mineral with notes of white peach, citrus zest and toasted brioche. A characterful grower Champagne to open with seafood, poultry or simply on its own.
