Bourgogne rouge

Sylvain Pataille
From Marsannay, this pure Pinot Noir comes from a grower who works his vines biodynamically and lets the fruit do the talking. Expect a bright, juicy red: wild strawberry, red cherry and a twist of pepper, with silky tannins and a chalky freshness that keeps you coming back for another sip. Grapes are picked by hand, fermented with native yeasts and aged gently in older barrels, so nothing masks the chalky Burgundian soils beneath. Lovely now with roast chicken, charcuterie or a mushroom risotto, yet supple enough to enjoy slightly chilled on a warm evening. Honest, beautifully made Burgundy at a fair price.
