Pommard 1er cru Les Bertins
Nestled on the lower slopes of a celebrated Burgundy village, this Pinot Noir comes from a family domaine farming organically since the early 2000s. The parcel sits on deep, clay-rich soils scattered with pebbles, giving wines real muscle and depth. Grapes are hand-picked, largely destemmed, then fermented slowly with gentle extraction before ageing in French oak barrels, a modest portion new, to keep the fruit centre stage. Expect dark cherry, blackberry and a touch of liquorice, with firm yet polished tannins and a savoury, earthy finish. Open it alongside roast duck, beef or mature cheeses, or cellar it for a decade.

Pommard Les Vaumuriens
Grown on the high slopes of Pommard, this Pinot Noir comes from a small family domaine farming organically since the early 2000s. The vines sit on stony, well-drained limestone soil, giving wines with real tension and lift rather than heaviness. Grapes are hand-harvested, partially destemmed and fermented with native yeasts, then aged quietly in oak barrels with only a light touch of new wood. The result is deep ruby in the glass, with black cherry, wild raspberry and a hint of warm spice, held together by fine, chalky tannins. Lovely now with roast duck, even better after a few more years.

Volnay
A benchmark red from Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, crafted by a family domaine farming its vines organically since 2008. The 2021 vintage shows all the charm of this celebrated village: silky Pinot Noir with scents of cherry, wild strawberry and a touch of violet, backed by gentle spice from careful ageing in French oak. Grapes are hand-picked, largely destemmed and vinified with a long, gentle maceration to draw out perfume rather than power. The result is supple, elegant and beautifully balanced — lovely now with roast poultry or mushroom dishes, yet happy to rest in your cellar for a few more years.

The 2021 vintage brings freshness and precision, making it a joy with roast duck, mushroom risotto or a quiet evening of good conversation.

Lovely now with roast poultry or mushroom dishes, and it'll keep happily for another five or six years.

Bourgogne Aligoté
Crafted in Meursault by a winemaker who works her small plots with real care, this white comes from old vines rooted in the limestone-rich soils of the Côte de Beaune. Hand-harvested fruit, gentle pressing and ageing in oak barrels give it a depth you rarely find in this appellation. Expect bright citrus, white flowers and a touch of hazelnut, carried by a lively freshness and a surprisingly creamy texture. Vintage 2019 brought ripeness and balance in equal measure. Lovely with oysters, goat's cheese or simply on its own as an aperitif. A quietly brilliant bottle that over-delivers every time.

Bourgogne Blanc Clous Perrons
Crafted by Anne Boisson in Meursault, this white Burgundy comes from old Chardonnay vines rooted in clay-limestone soils just outside the village boundaries. Everything is done by hand, with low yields and a gentle touch in the cellar: slow pressing, fermentation with native yeasts, then ageing in seasoned oak barrels on fine lees. The 2022 vintage gives you a glass full of ripe citrus, white peach and a hint of hazelnut, carried by a lovely saline freshness. It drinks beautifully now with roast chicken, creamy risotto or a plate of goat's cheese, yet it will happily rest a few more years.

Bourgogne Côte d'Or Chardonnay
Fabien Coche farms a handful of plots just outside Meursault, and you can taste that address straight away. The 2023 gives you ripe white peach and citrus, a touch of hazelnut, and that gentle chalky lift you only get from Côte d'Or limestone. Old vines, hand-picked fruit, a slow press and ageing in barrel (very little new oak) keep everything fresh rather than heavy. It's rounded and generous, yet finishes clean and bright. Pour it with roast chicken, creamy risotto or a plate of goat's cheese. Honestly, it drinks like a village wine at a far friendlier price. Drink now or keep three years.
