Hautes Côte de Beaune La Couleuvraire

Pierre Boisson
Grown on the cool, high-altitude slopes above Beaune, this Pinot Noir comes from Pierre Boisson, a grower better known for brilliant whites but just as gifted with reds. The limestone-rich plot gives the wine its lift: bright red cherry, wild raspberry and a twist of crushed stone, carried by silky tannins and a fresh, mouth-watering finish. Hand-harvested fruit, gentle extraction and a patient ageing in used oak keep everything pure and transparent — no make-up, just honest Burgundy. Lovely now with roast chicken or charcuterie, and happy to rest a few more years in your cellar. You'll want a second bottle.
