🍷 Elio Sandri: Exceptional Barolo and Living Tradition in Monforte d’Alba
Elio Sandri’s estate is located in Perno, a hamlet of Monforte d’Alba in Piedmont’s Langhe region. Inheriting the historic Cascina Disa (founded in 1965), Elio farms 8 hectares of vines on blue marl soils with southeast to southwest exposures. He produces Barolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Nebbiolo in a deeply traditional style: long macerations in concrete vats, native yeasts, and extended aging (up to 60 months for the Riserva) in large oak casks. No fining, no filtration. The wines are profound, elegant, and built for aging.
