Rémi Sédès
🍷 Rémi Sédès: Natural Wine from Coteaux d’Ancenis Rooted in Granite, Gamay, and Rural Craft
Based in Vair-sur-Loire near Nantes, Rémi Sédès farms 4.5 hectares of vines on the granite soils of the Coteaux d’Ancenis. Originally from the Jura, he trained with Vincent Caillé and biodynamic grower Jacques Carroget, who sold him his first Gamay vines planted in the 1990s. Rémi practices organic farming, uses a horse for plowing, and avoids all pesticides and herbicides. His winemaking is fully natural: native yeasts, no fining, no filtration, and no added sulfites. His wines are honest, vibrant, often long-macerated, and express the freshness of the Loire with clarity.
