Gevrey-Chambertin VV Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py

Straight from the heart of the Côte de Nuits, this red comes from old vines tended by one of Burgundy's most meticulous families. Bernard and Loïc Dugat-Py farm biodynamically, harvesting tiny yields by hand from parcels planted decades ago, which gives the wine its remarkable depth. Expect dark cherry, wild blackberry and a hint of liquorice, wrapped in silky tannins and that unmistakable mineral edge the local limestone soils bring. Ageing in fine French oak adds spice without ever covering the fruit. Pour it with roast duck, game or aged cheeses — or simply give it a few more years to shine.
