Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py

Perched on the stony slopes above the village, this premier cru comes from old vines rooted in cool, well-drained limestone soils that give the wine its lovely tension and lift. Bernard Dugat-Py farms organically, harvests tiny yields by hand and treats each parcel with real care, ageing the wine in fine French oak barrels to add polish without masking the fruit. Expect dark cherry, wild raspberry and a hint of crushed rock, framed by silky tannins and a long, savoury finish. The 2017 vintage brings freshness and charm, so you can enjoy it now or cellar it for a decade or more.
