🍷 Yvon Métras: A Natural Wine Icon in Beaujolais

Based in Villié-Morgon, Yvon Métras is one of the most iconic winemakers in Beaujolais. A disciple of Jules Chauvet and Marcel Lapierre, he took over the family estate in 1988 and became a pioneer of natural wine. On 5 hectares of old vines farmed organically and biodynamically, he produces rare and sought-after cuvées in Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, and Beaujolais appellations. His winemaking is additive-free: native yeasts, semi-carbonic maceration, no filtration, no added sulfur. The wines are deep, vibrant, sometimes austere when young, but with remarkable aging potential.
