Weingut Von der Vogel Waide

🍇 Von der Vogelwaide: Natural Wine from Wachau Blending Biodynamics, Poetry, and Terroir Revival

Founded in 2019 in Mitterarnsdorf, Wachau Valley (Austria), Von der Vogelwaide is led by young winemakers Daniel Vogelwaid and Michael Donabaum. Rejecting the labels of “winery” or “château,” they embrace a free, artisanal, and poetic approach to wine. They revived old, abandoned plots in the Spitzer Graben, farming biodynamically (certification in progress) on gneiss and graphite soils. Local grapes — Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Zweigelt, Portugieser — are vinified naturally, with no additives, long aging, and no filtration. Their cuvées bear evocative names (Balztanz, Tandaradai, Frau Welt, Kane Grade) and reflect a sensitive, aesthetic, and committed vision of wine.
