Volnay 1er Cru Carelle sous la chapelle Chantal Lescure

This elegant Burgundy comes from a sun-blessed slope just below the chapel, where limestone-rich soils give the fruit a lovely sense of poise. The domaine works its vines organically, picking by hand and sorting with real care, so only the healthiest grapes make the cut. Gentle extraction and ageing in French oak barrels bring depth without masking the terroir's natural finesse. Expect silky red cherry and wild raspberry, a whisper of violet, and supple tannins that glide across the palate. The 2021 vintage brings freshness and precision, making it a joy with roast duck, mushroom risotto or a quiet evening of good conversation.
