🍷 Vino del Poggio: Natural Wine from Piacenza’s Hills Rooted in Peasant Tradition and Free Expression
Founded in 2006 by Andrea Cervini in Poggio Superiore near Travo (Emilia-Romagna), Vino del Poggio is a small artisanal estate nestled in the hills of Val Trebbia. Inspired by his winemaker uncle and mentor Giulio Armani, Cervini farms 4 hectares organically on clay-limestone soils surrounded by pristine forests. Local grapes — Barbera, Bonarda, Malvasia di Candia Aromatica — are vinified naturally: spontaneous fermentation, long maceration, no filtration or additives. The wines are deep, rustic, and honest, reflecting the land’s history — even the elephant on the label pays tribute to the Battle of Trebbia (218 BC).
