Nuits Saint Georges Village

Domaine Henri Gouges
A benchmark estate in the Côte de Nuits, farming its vines organically and bottling with a purist's touch. This 2023 comes from parcels of clay-limestone soils around the village, worked by hand and harvested at perfect ripeness. Expect a deep ruby colour, with aromas of black cherry, wild raspberry and a hint of liquorice and woodland floor. On the palate it's beautifully structured, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and a savoury, mineral finish that lingers. Vinified with gentle extraction and matured in mostly used oak, so the fruit and terroir stay in charge. Drink now with roast duck, or cellar it for a decade.
