NSG 1er cru Clos des Porrets St Georges - Monopole

Domaine Henri Gouges
A jewel of a monopole, owned and tended by one of Nuits-Saint-Georges' founding families, who've been working these slopes since the 1920s. The vines sit on clay-limestone soils right below the village, giving you that unmistakable depth and iron-tinged minerality the appellation is famous for. Expect dark cherry, blackcurrant and a touch of liquorice, wrapped in firm but polished tannins. Vinification stays beautifully traditional here: wild yeasts, gentle extraction, then ageing in oak barrels with only a light touch of new wood. The 2023 is generous yet precise, drinking well now but built to reward a decade in your cellar.
