Luca Roagna
🍷 Luca Roagna: Piedmont Icon of Tradition and Purity
Roagna is one of Piedmont’s most iconic wine estates, located in Barbaresco and Castiglione Falletto (Barolo). Founded in the late 19th century, it is now led by Luca Roagna, the fifth generation of winemakers, who crafted his first vintage in 2001. The estate farms around 15 hectares, including historic vineyards like Pajé, Pira, Montefico, and Asili. Viticulture is organic (uncertified), with natural grassing, biodiversity preservation, and minimal intervention. Winemaking is slow and traditional: 2–3 month macerations, aging in old large barrels, no modern oenology. The wines are remarkably refined, with aromatic purity and exceptional aging potential.
