Jean-Baptiste Souillard

🍷 Jean-Baptiste Souillard: Micro-Négociant of Fine Northern Rhône Terroirs

Founded in 2013 in Andance, Northern Rhône Valley, Jean-Baptiste Souillard’s winery is a small-scale, artisanal négociant house focused on top terroirs like Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, and Saint-Péray. Coming from a farming family, Jean-Baptiste studied oenology in Montpellier and wine business in Dijon, and trained at prestigious estates such as Château Latour (Bordeaux) and Comte Armand (Burgundy). He works with the same organically farmed plots each year, overseeing everything from vineyard to vinification. Grapes are often whole-cluster fermented with native yeasts, no fining or filtration, and minimal sulfur.

Roussanne

This 2021 white wine from Jean-Baptiste Souillard reveals a vibrant expression of freshness and elegance. Known for his meticulous approach in the Northern Rhône, the winemaker crafts a cuvée that balances richness with refined minerality. Expect notes of ripe stone fruits, subtle floral hints, and a delicate touch of spice that unfolds gracefully on the palate. Its lively texture and long finish make it perfect for pairing with fine seafood, poultry, or creamy cheeses. Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, to enjoy its full aromatic complexity and finesse. A bottle that beautifully reflects artisanal precision and character.
