Hervé Souhaut

🍷 Hervé Souhaut – Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet: Natural Granite Wines from Northern Ardèche

Founded in 1993 by Hervé Souhaut in Arlebosc, Northern Ardèche, Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet is a benchmark for natural wine in the Northern Rhône Valley. A trained biologist, Hervé learned from iconic winemakers like Dard & Ribo, Marcel Lapierre, and Philippe Pacalet. He farms about 7 hectares of old vines (50 to 100 years old) on acidic granite soils, using organic methods without formal certification. Grapes include Syrah, Gamay, Viognier, and Roussanne. Winemaking is gentle and additive-free, with native yeasts and aging in old barrels. He also produces Saint-Joseph and Vin de Pays de l’Ardèche.
