Domaine Charvin
馃崌 General presentation Foundation: Created in 1851 by Guillaume Charavin (later Charvin due to an administrative error in 1910).
Location: Situated in Orange, in the north-west of the Ch芒teauneuf-du-Pape appellation, on the Mont-Redon plateau.
Surface area: Around 28 to 33 hectares of vineyards, part in C么tes-du-Rh么ne and 2 ha in Vin de Pays.
Farming: Certified organic since 1995, without chemical inputs, and winemaking respectful of the terroir.
馃嵎 Style and winemaking Philosophy: Laurent Charvin, who has managed the estate since 1990, favours authentic and balanced wines, far from demonstrative styles.
Winemaking:
Whole clusters (harvests not destemmed).
Aged in concrete tanks for about 18 months.
No wood used, in order to preserve fruit purity and terroir expression.
Annual production: About 2,500 cases of Ch芒teauneuf-du-Pape, 4,000 cases of C么tes-du-Rh么ne, and a few cuv茅es of Vin de Pays.

Upper slopes: rolled pebbles on clay.
Lower slopes: pure sand.
Climate: Cooler northern zone of the appellation, favouring elegant wines less marked by heat.

Reputation: Considered a benchmark estate for lovers of traditional Ch芒teauneuf-du-Pape, with wines that age remarkably well.
