Picture a glass of silky Pinot Noir from one of the Côte de Beaune's most charming villages. Pierrick Bouley, a young grower working his family's vines near Volnay, tends old plots on limestone-rich slopes with real care, favouring gentle, low-intervention work in the vineyard. The 2021 vintage gave small yields but wonderfully pure fruit: think fresh red cherry, wild strawberry and a whisper of violet, carried by fine, powdery tannins. Whole-berry fermentation and a patient ageing in seasoned oak keep everything elegant rather than heavy. Pour it with roast duck, mushroom risotto or simply good company — you'll be glad you did.
