Saumur Champigny Clos de l'Echelier

Domaine des Roches Neuves
Grown on a steep, sun-drenched slope of tuffeau limestone, this Cabernet Franc comes from one of Saumur's most treasured parcels. Thierry Germain works the vines biodynamically, picking by hand and keeping yields low so each berry arrives packed with flavour. Fermentation happens naturally with whole bunches, then the wine rests in large oak casks that shape it gently without masking the fruit. The result is beautifully precise: crunchy red berries, crushed violets, a hint of graphite and that chalky freshness only this terroir delivers. Silky tannins carry a long, mineral finish. Open it with lamb, duck or simply good company.
