Maison Chanterêves

🍇 Maison Chanterêves — Burgundy's Dream Weavers

Some names just sound like a promise. Maison Chanterêves — literally "the house of singing dreams" — was born in 2010 from the meeting of two remarkable people: Tomoko Kuriyama, a Japanese winemaker trained in Germany, and Guillaume Bott, a Burgundian with decades of cellar experience behind him. Together they created a tiny négociant house with an outsized reputation, hunting down exceptional plots across the Côte d'Or and treating every single one with the care you'd give your own back garden.

📍 Rooted in the Côte d'Or

Based in Savigny-lès-Beaune, the couple source grapes from growers they know personally, from the Hautes-Côtes to the most celebrated slopes of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. The limestone and clay soils here do something special to vines — they give wines that are at once juicy and mineral, generous yet precise. Farming is organic or biodynamic wherever possible, and in the cellar the approach is wonderfully hands-off: whole bunches, native yeasts, gentle extraction, very little new oak. The idea is simple — let the place do the talking.

🍷 The grapes behind the bottles

Pinot Noir is the heart of the red range, bottled in a style that's silky, perfumed and beautifully fresh — think red cherry, rose petal and a whisper of spice rather than heavy, oaky weight. Chardonnay gives whites of real tension, with citrus, white flowers and a saline finish that keeps you coming back for another sip. There's also lovely work with Aligoté, Burgundy's underrated white, all crunchy green apple and zip, and the occasional Gamay for pure, easy-going pleasure.

✨ Why you'll love them

These are wines made in small quantities by people who genuinely care, and it shows in the glass. They're elegant without being austere, drinkable young but built to age, and they offer something increasingly rare in Burgundy — honest value. Whether you're opening a bottle on a Tuesday night or saving one for a special dinner, Maison Chanterêves delivers that quiet thrill of a wine that feels alive.

🍽️ At the table

Pour the Pinot Noir alongside roast poultry, mushroom dishes or a good charcuterie board. The Chardonnay and Aligoté are brilliant with shellfish, creamy goat's cheese or simply a plate of fresh oysters. Serve the reds lightly chilled on a warm day — you'll thank us.
