Gevrey Chambertin

Sylvie Esmonin
Crafted in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, this red is the work of a grower who farms her vines with real care, favouring old plots, low yields and gentle, hands-off winemaking. Whole-bunch fermentation brings lift and spice, while ageing in French oak adds polish without masking the fruit. Expect dark cherry, blackcurrant and violet, a touch of liquorice, and those earthy, stony notes the limestone-clay soils are known for. The 2023 vintage gives you ripe, generous fruit backed by fine, supple tannins. Lovely with roast duck, beef or a mature cheese, and it'll reward a few years in the cellar.
