Chambertin Grand Cru Domaine Jean-Louis Trapet

A legendary Grand Cru from Gevrey-Chambertin, crafted by a family who has tended these vines since 1870. You'll find deep limestone and clay soils here, worked biodynamically, giving fruit of remarkable concentration and purity. The 1996 vintage brings you bright acidity and firm structure, with layers of black cherry, forest floor, leather and warm spice unfolding in the glass. Gentle extraction and patient ageing in French oak let the terroir speak for itself. Nearly three decades on, it's drinking beautifully — silky, complex and endlessly long. Pour it with game, truffle dishes or aged cheese, and take your time.
