Merweh

Sept
Grown high in the Bekaa foothills, this white comes from an indigenous Lebanese grape that nearly disappeared. The estate works organically, hand-harvests old bush vines planted on limestone and clay at altitude, then lets wild yeasts do the work in the cellar. No fining, no filtering, barely any sulphur — just honest winemaking that lets the land speak. Expect gentle aromas of white peach, dried herbs, almond and a salty, stony finish that keeps you coming back. Textured and refreshing, it's lovely with grilled fish, mezze, roast chicken or a plate of hummus. A rare taste of Lebanon's heritage worth discovering.
