Mâcon Chaintre Vieilles Vignes

Maison Valette
# Mâcon Chaintré Vieilles Vignes 2023 – Maison Valette Tucked into the southern Mâconnais, this Chardonnay comes from old vines rooted in limestone-rich clay soils around the village of Chaintré. The Valette family works with a light touch: low yields, hand-harvesting, natural fermentation and long ageing on lees, with minimal sulphur. The result is a white with real presence — ripe orchard fruit, a touch of honey and hazelnut, then a saline, chalky finish that keeps you coming back. It's generous without being heavy, and already lovely to drink, though it'll reward a few years in the cellar. Try it with roast chicken, soft cheeses or grilled fish.
