VDF Camaron Rancio

Jerôme Saurigny
A singular white from the Loire, crafted by a vigneron who works his vines naturally, with low yields and plenty of patience. Chenin grown on schist and flint soils gives the wine its backbone, while long oxidative ageing builds that distinctive rancio character: walnut, dried apricot, orange peel and a salty, almost sherry-like tang. There's no fining, no filtering and barely a trace of sulphur, so everything feels alive in the glass. Pour it with aged comté, roast poultry or simply on its own, slightly chilled. If you enjoy wines with personality and a story behind them, this one delivers.
