Dalmore 12 ans

Distillery Dalmore
Aged for twelve years in the Scottish Highlands, this single malt comes from a distillery that has sat beside the Cromarty Firth since 1839, famous for its royal stag emblem. Nine years rest in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then the spirit is split: half continues in oak, half moves into 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts from Jerez. Married back together, you get a rich, rounded dram with notes of orange marmalade, chocolate and warm spice, backed by a gentle nuttiness. Smooth enough to sip neat, generous enough to share. A lovely place to start if you're exploring Highland malts.
